Sharlotte Gibson
In 1995, Sharlotte broke into the international music scene singing support vocals for Brandy on the BoyzIIMen tour. This turned out to be the stepping stone that led her to become one of the world’s most sought after supporting vocalists.
After Brandy came Barry White and Tevin Campbell. In 1997 she met Rickey Minor and auditioned for Whitney Houston, with whom she toured and recorded for 12 years. She can be heard on the MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE album, the JUST WHITNEY album, Whitney’s GREATEST HITS album, and live DVDs. Her relationship with Rickey also led to performances on countless TV shows, including American Idol, which began in ’05 for 4 seasons. She supported Carrie Underwood as she performed the Heart classic ALONE and can be seen singing with Carrie in her ALL-STAR HOLIDAY SPECIAL.
In 2004, Sharlotte began working with Queen Latifa, starting with THE DANA OWENS ALBUM and has continued as her supporting vocalist on tours, such as the SUGAR WATER FESTIVAL. She is featured on PERSONA, Latifa’s newest release.
As one of the most accomplished supporting vocalists in history, Sharlotte has worked with the likes of Berlin, Joan Osborne, Queens of the Stoneage, Macy Gray, Cyndi Lauper, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Liz Phair, Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, Tyrese Gibson, Jamie Foxx, Deborah Harry, Patt LaBelle, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Maxwell, Terry Ellis of En Vogue, George Michael, Diana Ross, Donna Summer and has recorded many tracks with RuPaul, Toni Braxton, Heavy-D, Tom Jones, Mary J Blige, Celine Dion, and Lucy Lawless.
As a vocal arranger, she worked for Anastacia’s FREAK OF NATURE album, the Live in Japan DVD, and the song SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME with Glen Ballard, as well as DEAR JOHN LETTER on the JUST WHITNEY album, and the song DELIBERATION on the GRIDLOCK’D soundtrack with Cody Chestnut.
As a recording artist in her own right, in ’03 Sharlotte collaborated with Lior Rosner to create and record the theme song for the Emmy Award winning ELLEN show. She can also be heard on the title track for the movie HIDE AND SEEK starring Robert Dinero. In ’04 Sharlotte collaborated again with Lior for THE EKLEKTICA PROJECT, writing the songs FREEDOM, CONSEQUENCE and ELECTRIC ECSTACY featuring RuPaul on the OUTSIDE THE BOX album. She sang her original song WHEN BILLY COMES HOME during Lucy Lawless’ concerts in New York and Los Angeles.
From January 1999 to November 2000, Sharlotte sang with the band Berlin, and continues to make guest appearances with them. She sang her original song SAGE before performing with Berlin at LA Pride ’09.
