Kevin Stea (That Rogue Romeo)
After only a year and a half of training, Kevin Stea was hired to be the associate choreographer, dance captain, and dancer on Madonna’s now-legendary Blond Ambition World Tour, from which the movie “Madonna: Truth or Dare” was made, and the video for “Vogue”.
He began modeling for Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Tommy Hilfiger, Romeo Gigli, Fendi, Calvin Klein, and Exte, and has worked many times over the years with famed photographer David Lachapelle, Herb Ritts and Peggy Sirota, among others. After performing in movies like Sister Act 2, Showgirls, Newsies and The Birdcage, he toured Japan with famed Japanese artist Seiko Matsuda, as her dance partner and singer. He appeared often on Italian television, choreographed several series, and signed a recording deal. While recording he toured with Ricky Martin, promoting “La Vida Loca”.
That Rogue Romeo is Kevin’s latest creation, drawing on experience from working with the world’s greatest performing artists and directors, from Madonna and Rihanna, to Steven Spielberg, Mike Nichols and McG. He previously sang and wrote with groups New World and JKL, before developing this musical character as a more personal and adventurous creative outlet. Romeo is a dark, funky blend of electro and pop, inspired by artists like Prince and Muse. His first two songs as a solo artist, “Can’t Help Myself” and “City of Glass” were released June 2009.
Kevin joined the movement in 2008 when he directed the premier event, Open Artists with Open Arms, to a sold out house in Hollywood, CA. In 2009, Kevin directed the show at the infamous Avalon Theater and debuted as That Rogue Romeo.
